Betty Ann Copley, FAHP
Chairman/Founder

Betty Ann Copley founded Copley Harris Company in 1987 and serves as senior consultant to the firm and its many clients. A Fellow in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy since 1984 and former member AHP's Board of Examiners, Ms. Harris has more than 30 years experience in development program planning, campaigns, executive search and strategic planning for non-profit organizations.

Prior to founding Copley Harris Company, Ms. Copley served as Director of Development and Community Affairs for Salem Hospital (now North Shore Medical Center), Salem, MA and as Assistant Vice President for Advancement at Catherine McAuley Health Center, a 600-bed regional medical center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Her accomplishments in the philanthropy profession include board appointments in the CFRE Accreditation Board, the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, New England Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Planned Giving Group of New England and numerous civic organizations. One of her lasting contributions to the Development field has been her role as teacher and mentor to countless young fundraising professionals. She has directed hundreds of educational conference programs and continues to serve on the faculty of regional and national fund raising seminars for AHP, NEAHP, and AFP.

She is the author of several fundraising articles in the professional journals and fundraising management magazines and is the author of three chapters in the recently published John Wiley book entitled, The Fundraising Feasibility Study : It's Not About the Money.

Ms. Copley directs capital campaigns and planning studies, development audits and board retreats, serves as planned giving counsel for numerous organizations. She also serves as general counsel and directs executive search services for major health care, academic, cultural/historic and social service organizations.
