Karen L. Cadbury

Karen Cadbury has served as a consultant for the past ten years working on feasibility studies, board development, development assessments and capital campaigns for numerous non-profit organizations in New England. She formerly served as the Vice President for Marketing, Development and Communications at Northeast Health (in Rockland and Rockport, Maine), a consortium of five medical institutions that includes a hospital, two long-term care facilities and a skilled home-healthcare business. She was also the former Director of Development and Dean of Institutional Development for College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. For 10 years prior to moving to Maine, she worked for the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she designed educational programs on anthropology and archaeology for the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology. During her tenure at the University, she also served as a journalist and assistant editor of a new publication with a readership of 47,000, and as the assistant manager of WXPN-FM, the University of Pennsylvania's public radio station.

She has worked with many non-profit organizations, including a $5 million capital campaign St. Joseph Hospital (Nashua, New Hampshire), and non-profit organizations throughout Maine including Hurricane Island Outward Bound, the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and the Institute for Global Ethics. She also serves as a trustee for United Mid-Coast Charities and as the president of the Board for the Community School in Camden, Maine.
